Something Fun

Most of 2020 has been doom and gloom. Businesses closing, then opening just to get shut back down. ALL of the Rod Stewart shows have been cancelled for safety. My shows with my local band were cancelled or rescheduled till 2021... Eeek! its been a very frustrating year. But... I did get asked to do something really awesome a few weeks ago that was very near and dear to my heart.

I was asked to be a judge for the Exchange Club of Bakersfield's "Kern Search for talent"! Growing up, I competed in this exact talent show several times. Even winning the title of "Supreme" in my Juniors category. I belted out Memories from the broadway musical "CATS" while dressed as a cat and thats what snatched me the title :)

So to go back to my hometown of Bakersfield and be asked to sit on the other side of the stage and judge was very exciting. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be! Oh gosh I wanted to give them all perfect scores because I remember being exactly where they were and all the emotions that went along with it. Singers, dancers and musicians from ages 5 to 18 competed and it just brought back so many amazing memories.

So I want to thank the Exchange Club of Bakersfield for their wonderful work, not only with this talent show but within the community. The Exchange Club of Bakersfield is a non profit community service organization that helps with youth projects and it's primary project is to support the "Prevention of Child Abuse".

If you are looking to donate to a charity this year, please consider the Exchange Club (they have over 700 clubs throughout the U.S) and for my Bakersfield friends, you can help by buying an authentic Bakersfield Christmas bulb!

I posted a few fun pictures below!
